lenguaje: lugar de encuentro entre dos almas

Hoy celebro a nuestro poeta venezolano Rafel Cadenas que dice en su ensayo en torno al lenguaje: "Aunque no soy amigo de definiciones, siempre me ha gustado por su sencillez la que Charles Du Bos da de la literatura. Es ésta: 'lugar de encuentro de dos almas'.
 ¿Qué más se puede añadir?

Importa subrayar la palabra encuentro.  Para que él ocurra se requiere la apertura del escuchar, que siendo un acto natural tanto les cuesta a los seres humanos. La verdad es que siempre estamos predispuestos en pro o en contra, rara vez despojados de opiniones, porque somos juzgadores incurables. A los estudiantes les suelo recomendar que no anden armados por la vida –alertas  sí–, que bajen la guardia, que pongan a un lado la lanza, el escudo y la celada, y se apresten a escuchar todo, que sean receptivos. Me parece una manera de romper nuestro autismo sonambúlico.

Dice Antonio Machado: 

Entre vivir y soñar
está lo que más importa:
despertar."

Today I want to celebrate our venezuelan poet Rafael Cadenas who writes in his essay around languaje: " Even though I am not a friend of definitions, I have always liked for its simplicity the one that Charles Du Bos gives to literature: 'a place of encounter between two souls'. What else can be added? It is important to underline the word encounter. For this to occur we must be open to listening, a natural act so difficult for us humans to carry out. The truth is that we are always predisposed  pro or against something, rarely disposed of opinions, because we are incurable judges of everything. I always recommend my students not to go around life armed- alert, yes-, to lower their guard, to put aside the spear, the shield and the ambush, and get ready to listen to everything, to be receptive. It seems to me a way of breaking up our autistic sleepwalking.

Between living and dreaming

is the most important:

being awake."
