        En el principio, sólo existía la voluntad de Olofín (el Supremo Bien); la tierra estaba envuelta en llamas y follaje; esto sucedió durante muchos siglos; el cielo estaba cubierto de nubes, del centro de la tierra salía más fuego que de otra parte y por eso se dice que de "oroiña" nació Aggayú, el volcán, que hizo cenizas a las rocas, y de ese polvo, el vapor y la humedad se mezclaron y formaron el fango y la pestilencia donde nació Babalú Ayé: San Lázaro; posteriormente, Tité, la tierra, se tornó más fértil y húmeda, dando origen a las plantas y a Osáin; después aparecieron los animales. A consecuencia de las masas de vapores derramadas sobre la superficie de la tierra, se abrieron brechas y canales que originaron los ríos, donde nació Oshún, desde Ikolé hasta Ibuindo. Todas las rocas no fueron quemadas, y mediante otro proceso formaron las montañas y las lomas donde nació Oké, el sitio por donde se asoma Aggayú, hijo de Oroiña. Obatalá fue creado por obra y gracia de Olofín.
