Aguas
De nuevo comienzan a subir las aguas
en la vieja represa de Nirgua.
Cada cuatro años, o tres, o dos
-las fluctuaciones del río
son impredecibles-, aparecen
los mismos signos. Si el viajero
es buen observador, si en su comarca
ocurren cosas semejantes, puede
apreciar los cambios desde lejos.
Todo parece comenzar con una alteración
en el precario equilibrio de las aguas
interiores, o domésticas, como prefieren
llamarlas algunos; casi enseguida,

Waters
Again the waters begin to rise
in the old dam in Nirgua.
Every four years, or three, or two
-the river fluctuations
are unpredictable- the same signs
appear. If the traveler
is a good observer, if in his region
similar things happen, he can
appreciate the changes in the distance.
Everything seems to start with an alteration
in the precarious balance of the internal
waters or domestic, like some prefer
to call them, almost immediately,
but not always, the fortuitous encounter
occurs with an external current,
which may be familiar or completely new,
unexpected and therefore more dangerous.
When these two factors coincide,
the internal imbalance and sudden
flow, we can only hope that the damage
not be as big as the ones
six years ago, when we almost
lost our lives, as well as the crops.
