Lejos del duelo
Donde hay un grano, hay mercado,
donde hay un hombre, se compra y se paga,
el precio es lo de menos, el dinero debe ser fresco
y rápido; si es lento, se pone agrio
como la leche olvidada en la nata.
La vida también se estanca, por donde debe
correr hay un alto barranco, se necesita
pulmón para resistir. Estar hundido
puede ser una estrategia, pero estar en el fondo
puede ser una tragedia. Una y otra ocurren
sin que sepamos nada. Respirar, sólo respirar,
es un mérito, si añadimos vida, con carnaval
o sin él, estamos cerca de la gloria, lejos del duelo.

Far from mourning
Where there is a grain, there is a market,
where there is a man, there is trade and exchange,
the price is not important, the money should be fresh
and fast; if it is slow, it gets sour
forgotten as milk in the cream.
Life also stagnates, where it should flow
there must be a high ravine, it takes
lungs to resist. Being sunk
may be a strategy, but being at the bottom
can be a tragedy. One and the other occur
without us knowing it. To breathe, only breathe,
is a merit, if we add life, with carnival
or not, we are close to glory, far from mourning.
