San Juan Bautista::St. John the Baptist

Gloriosísimo San Juan Bautista, por el amor ardiente que tuviste al Niño Jesús y por la santísima dulzura que infundió en tu corazón con sus halagos; por aquellos privilegios que te concedió para hacer tantos milagros a favor de tus devotos, te suplico te dignes favorecerme en todas mis necesidades con tu eficaz patrocinio y en particular te ruego me alcances la gracia que te pido en este día.

¡Oh, glorioso San Juan Bautista, muévete a piedad de esta alma acongojada, que en ti puso sus esperanzas; líbrala, te ruego, de sus miserias. ¡Oh, santo de los milagros!, alivia la congoja de mi corazón, y haz que yo viva aquí como verdadero amante de mi Jesús para poder gozar de Él en el Cielo. Amén.

O God, You raised up St. John the Baptist to prepare a perfect people for Christ.  Fill Your people with the joy of possessing His grace, and direct the minds of all the faithful in the way of peace and salvation. Grant that as St. John was martyred for truth and justice, so we may energetically profess our Faith in You, and lead others to the Way, the Truth, and Eternal Life. Amen.
