 Horario

¿Qué hiciste hoy? 

          Leí el periódico y no reconocí a ningún amigo.
          Derretí la escarcha de la nevera para que la cerveza
          enfriara mejor.
          Me dí un baño de espuma.
          Sequé mi cabello. 

No parece que hayas hecho tantas cosas. 

          Hago muchas cosas y nadie se da cuenta.
          Puedo verme en el fondo de las ollas
          y en el piso de la cocina. 

Pero no saliste. Lo habías prometido. 

          Estuve en la parada.
          Levanté la mano y nadie se detuvo. 

Tampoco leíste el libro que te compré. 

          No tuve tiempo. 

Nunca tienes tiempo.

                               Tu tampoco. Y no te molesto preguntando
                               ¿Qué hiciste hoy? 

Imagino cómo pasan las horas en esta casa.         

          Pasan,
          te lo aseguro,
          pasan.

Schedule

                     What did you do today? 

           I read the newspaper and didn't recognize any friends.
           Melted frost from the fridge for the beer
           to chill better.
           I gave myself a bubble bath.
           I dried my hair.  

It doesn't seem that you've done so many things.  

           I do many things and no one notices.
           I can see myself in the bottom of the pans
           and on the kitchen floor.  

But you didn't go out. You promised.  

           I was at the bus-stop.
           I raised my hand and no one stopped.  

Nor did you read the book I bought you.  

           I had no time.  

You never have time. 

                               Neither do you. Do I bother you if I ask
                               ¿What did you do today?

                    I can imagine how the hours pass in this house. 

           They pass,            I assure you,            they pass.
