 Para sobrevivir la casa

La casa está cerca de un lago que ya secaron

y de un paradero al que los buses dejaron de venir

Cerca está la vía férrea

por la que nunca vimos pasar el tren

Nacimos en hospitales que ya no existen

Nos perdieron las calles cuando cambiaron de nombre

Desconocimos el colegio cuando cambió de dueños

Cuesta ubicar con precisión la casa de los primeros amigos

Recordar la anterior fachada de la iglesia

o cómo era el columpio que colgaba del árbol

antes de que la tentación de los edificios

lapidara la infancia del barrio

Un amigo que ya no visito

decía que la casa de un hombre

debe estar cerca de todo lo que le habita

A nuestra casa

la que tiene en la ventana el cartel de una inmobiliaria

la rondan las demoliciones

la sobrevive este poema

y la habita

todo lo que perdimos.

 To survive the house

The house is near a lake that's already dry

and a bus-stop where the buses have stopped coming

Nearby are the railway tracks

on which we never saw the train pass

We were born in hospitals that no longer exist

The streets lost us when their names changed

We didn't recognise our school when it changed owners

It's hard to find our first friends' house precisely

To remember the former facade of the church

or how was the swing hanging from the tree

before the temptation of buildings

marked the neighborhood's childhood

A friend I no longer visit

said that a man's house

should be close to everything that inhabits it

Our house

the one with the real state's sign on the window

is haunted by the demolitions

this poem survives it

and all that we lost

dwells in it.
