DE LO ESPIRITUAL EN EL ARTE

De esta época data mi costumbre de anotar pensamientos sueltos. Las notas se fueron acumulando durante más de diez años. Así escribí de lo espiritual en el arte casi sin darme cuenta...

La riqueza cromática del cuadro ha de atraer con gran fuerza al espectador y al mismo tiempo ha de esconder su contenido profundo. Me refería al contenido pictórico, pero no en su forma sino a la emoción o a las emociones del artista, expresadas pictóricamente. Por aquel tiempo me hacía aún la ilusión de que el espectador se enfrentaba al cuadro con el alma abierta y queriendo escuchar un lenguaje congenial. Existen espectadores así (no son una ilusión)  pero son raros como granos de oro en la arena. Existen incluso espectadores que sin tener un contacto personal con el lenguaje del cuadro se entregan a él y reciben sus riquezas.

            La pintura es un arte, y el arte en total no es una creación inútil de objetos que se deshacen en el vacío sino una fuerza útil que sirve al desarrollo y a la sensibilización del alma humana- que apoya el movimiento del triángulo. El arte es el lenguaje que habla al alma de cosas que son para ella el pan cotidiano, que sólo puede recibir en esta forma.  Cuando el arte se sustrae a esta obligación queda un hueco vacío, ya que no existe ningún poder que sustituya al arte. La verdadera obra de arte nace misteriosamente.

            El artista ha de educarse y ahondar en su propia alma, cuidarla y desarrollarla para que su talento externo tenga algo que vestir y no sea como el guante perdido de una mano desconocida, un simulacro de mano, sin sentido y vacía. A medida que se desarrolla el ser humano, se amplía el círculo de las cualidades que encierra en sí diferentes objetos y seres. Cuando se alcanza un alto grado de la sensibilidad, los objetos y los seres adquieren un valor interior y finalmente, un sonido interior.

 OF THE SPIRITUAL IN ART

From this period dates my habit of jotting down random thoughts. The notes were accumulated over ten years. So I wrote of the spiritual in art almost without realizing it ...

The rich colors of the painting have to attract viewers with great force and at the same time have to hide its deep content. I was referring to pictorial content, but not in form but the emotion or emotions of the artist, expressed pictorially. At that time I was still under the illusion that the viewer was facing the canvas with an open soul and wanting to hear a congenial language. There are this kind of spectators (not an illusion) but they are rare as gold nuggets in the sand. There are even viewers who without having personal contact with the language of the painting, relate to it and are able to receive its riches. 

Painting is an art, and a total art is not an idle creation of objects that fall apart in a void but an effective force that serves the development and awareness of the human soul- which supports the movement of the triangle. Art is the language that speaks to the soul of things which are her daily bread and can only receive them in this way. When art evades this obligation, it becomes empty since there is no power to replace art. The true work of art is born mysteriously.

The artist has to educate himself and delve into his own soul, care and develop it so that the external talent has something to wear and not turn into the lost glove of an unknown hand, a  false hand, meaningless and empty. As the human being develops, the circle of the qualities that encloses within it various objects and beings, extends. When you reach a high degree of sensitivity, objects and people acquire interior worth and finally, interior sound.
