XIILa poesía es el Templo de la Palabra, lugar sagrado, ideado para la meditación y la contemplación. La palabra para mí es un amuleto. Un objeto cargado de poder. Un amuleto es medicina. Entonces la palabra está cargada para acercarse a lo sagrado. Yo deseo ser un poeta que tenga poder en la palabra. Para ello uno tiene que acceder a la gracia o don poético. Tienes que darle primero algo a la poesía para que ello luego te lo devuelva. No puedes llegar a la poesía con las manos o con el corazón vacío. De nada te sirve tener en tu casa una vasija vacía, de adorno, cuando todos tus ancestros la tenían con agua. Entonces hay que entregarle a la poesía una palabra, tuya, verdadera, llena, plena; es decir, tu amuleto.
