Ayer participé en el evento "La mujer y sus logros" que organiza LeoCutura Red Ciudadana para la Cultura en el municipio Leoncio Martinez, Caracas. En la tarde llevé al espacio Bordar es Contar de 3 a 6 pm, en el Boulevard de la Av. Principal de la Carlota.
En Bordar y contar, dibujo en vivo:
Cuando me siento a bordar cerca
de alguna persona, esta empieza a contar cosas de su vida y aparecen las
abuelas, los recuerdos ancestrales.
Bordar es dibujar con hilos sobre
una tela como soporte. En esta acción me siento a bordar en una mesita para
cuatro personas. En cada puesto vacío hay un tambor de bordar, hilos y agujas.
Invito a las personas que quieran sentarse conmigo a bordar en la misma tela
durante el tiempo que deseen. En este caso, aunque hay un diseño original sobre
la tela, se da un proceso de dibujo en colectivo porque cada persona suelta su
aguja para bordar libremente. Existe la opción de seguir las líneas de colores
que vibran sobre la tela o escoger seguir cualquier línea personal que se abre
al meter la aguja en algún lugar.
Al expresarse el cuerpo es el medio que comunica
los dos territorios de lo subjetivo y lo objetivo. En el bordado los hilos de
colores son el vehículo con el que el cuerpo hace huella. La agujas, la
extensión de ese cuerpo. Me interesa la imagen sobre el soporte que puede ser
la tela cruda como espacio de agua, tierra, naturaleza. La experiencia del
dibujo provee destrezas y juego con los materiales integrándola con trabajo
corporal, individual y colectivo.
Yesterday I participated in the event "Women and their achievements" organized by the LeoCutura Citizen Network for Culture in the county Leoncio Martinez, Caracas. In the afternoon I presented in space Embroidering is storytelling from 3 to 6 pm at the Boulevard of the Main Avenue of La Carlota.
In Embroidering is storytelling, I draw:
When I embroider near someone, the person begins to tell stories of her life and the grandmothers appear, the ancestral memories.
To embroider is to draw with thread on a canvas as support. In this performance I sit down to embroider at a table for four. In each place there is an empty embroidering drum, thread and needles. I invite anyone who wants to sit with me to embroider in the same fabric as long as they wish. In this case, although there is an original design on the fabric, there is a process of collective drawing because each person uses his/her needle to embroider freely. There is the option of following the color lines that vibrate on the canvas or choose to follow any personal line that appears when inserting the needle anywhere.
When it expresses itself, the body is the medium that connects the two territories of the subjective and the objective. In the embroidery, the colors threads are the vehicle by which the body leaves its marks. The needles, the extension of that body. I am interested in the image on the support which is the raw material as a space of water, earth, nature. The experience of drawing provides skills and allows play by integrating materials with individual and collective body work.
