Quitadle los caireles de la rima,
el metro, la cadencia
y hasta la idea misma.
Aventad las palabras,
y si después queda algo todavía,
eso,
será la poesia.
Que
importa
que la estrella
esté rémora
y deshecha
la rosa?
Aún tendremos
el brillo y el aroma.

and if there is anything left,
