Santa Lucía celebra su X Velada
Santa Lucía, protectora de la vista
Oh, Santa Lucía,
Auténtica Luz de Santidad,
Virgen Castísima y Mártir,
Yo vuestra devota indigna,
St. Lucia, patroness of sight
Oh, Saint Lucia,
True Light Holiness
Chaste Virgin and Martyr,
I your unworthy devotee
prostrate before you,
I beg the grace to protect
the corporal sight of my eyes
and put it at the service of God,
and for the benefit of my soul
and my neighbor. So be it.

I begin to include images of the X celebration of Santa Lucia in Maracaibo which was held on March 5 and 6, 2010. I have many images that I will be including on this blog / journal. This is the street to which the vendors come to sell their wares and that is the St. Lucia who protects our eyesight and all artists. The vendors sell popcorn, ice cones, Creole sweets, typical food, balloons, plastic toys for children and lots of beer to pass the heat. The artists involved exchange their experiences and intervene spaces of some of the houses in the neighborhood with their installations and art works. Everything happens during two days and this year some fifteen thousand people passed through there. It is ten years of a public art event and art in society.
