The rains came. It must be true by now as the skies have been overcast for several days. Yesterday's afternoon rain turned into a deluge causing floods and traffic jams in some areas of the city. Any first little rain that falls on Caracas, simply collapses the city. The storm caught me doing an errand at the bank and I had to wait till the rain stopped. We needed the rain. One of the good things that happens with the first rains is that the bone plums and mangoes arrive to the fruit stands which sell directly on the streets. I spent the afternoon eating these delicious fruits and welcoming the change of season. Here in Venezuela the rains are our winter; we go from drought to water, season, direct.
