Me sorprende mi propia hazaña.
Ever since a year ago and with a tenacious discipline, each day I have gone into this blog/journal Tallerkaiko to hang on the internet my personal images and texts. On October 20, 2009, I decided to create an image a day under the motto: "a drawing a day, keeps the doctor away" or loosely translated into Spanish, "a picture a day keeps your health." I am surprised by my own achievement.
These images are photographic interventions of a majestic ceiba tree that marks the beginning of my walks in the Parque del Este during the week here in Caracas. Today, this same ceiba tree illuminates this blogger adventure that is becoming part of my daily creative discipline. In this blog/journal I include my day to day: photographs, drawings, graphics, poems, texts of my readings, events of my life, my art work. It helps me maintain sanity facing a country, Venezuela, increasingly wasted and broken. It gives an order to my creative freedom and the time of my life facing the world. It allows me to continue experimenting creatively and show what I found in the images that trample over at times and sometimes come forth in quieter ways. This blog is the river under the river that makes a noise under my interior and exterior spaces.
