el consejo del indio

Una vez me dió un consejo un viejo Indio que estaba muy preocupado por el uso de las palabras.

"Tú debes aprender a mirar el mundo dos veces," me dijo mientras me sentaba sobre el piso de su inmaculadamente barrido cuarto de adobe.

"Primero debes juntar tus ojos al frente para que puedas ver cada gota de lluvia sobre la grama, para que puedas ver el humo levantarse de un hormiguero en el sol. Nada debe escapar tu atención. Pero debes aprender a mirar una segunda vez, con tus ojos sobre el filo de lo que es visible.

Ahora debes ver con muy poca luz si quieres ver aquello escondido de la luz- visiones, neblina y gentenube...animales que corren rápidamente a tu lado en la oscuridad. Debes aprender a mirar el mundo dos veces si deseas ver todo lo que hay que ver."
