(tejer dura. logia y arqueo)

From October 17 to November 14, 2010, my friend Ramses Larzábal has been exhibiting at the Parentesis Gallery, at the Los Galpones Art Centre, his (tejer dura. logia y arqueo). These images build freely my photographic notations of the way he places his works onto this space of contemporary art. I especially admire the capacity of synthesis and transformation that his art works show.
Most are works that have been exhibited in other ways and in this show are transformed into other pieces that talk about history, memory, clarity, cleanliness and a permanent game of life.
Precisely in the process of creating there are moments of real insight by the artist, in many cases making it the fundamental essence of the visual work. Ramses Larzábal makes this feeling his own and central for his research in his personal artistic work that mutates on itself. A personal and revealing fact which characterizes and distinguishes him.
Beyond his work, Ramses Larzábal looks for a permanent reunion  with himself. There is no limit between him and his own work, an act of communion that is legitimized, departing from the principle that everything that contributes to expression, finds strength in the libertarian sense of being and thinking.

Alberto Asprino: It's hard to know where tour work begins and ends, because you're always portraying as a whole. What do you portray in your work?
Ramses Larzábal: Everything I do is somehow related to what I live, so it begins early when I wake begins and ends when I go to bed.
A. A.: The decade of the nineties in the context of our visual arts is characterized, among other things, by affirming the work of individual artists, allowing recognition for their contributions and recognition. So in retrospect: how do you view your art work today?
R. L.: For me, my work is always a trace, it reflects in it and leaves a mark. I see myself reflected in those years. I can see the difference in time and compare it with the picture today and I see myself then having other forms of wealth, experiences , but that today is always a constant yesterday. I will always have to observe my work tomorrow in its passing and how the experience has enriched my thoughts and deeds.
