Arrebatado el día fui al mercado

a preguntar por tí a las verduras

y no supe explicarme

y me hice un lío y no dí en el clavo

Después pregunté a la flor de pensamiento

a las ramas de tomillo a las naranjas

y nadie dio cuenta tuya

Quizás sobre los trampolines me dije

Tal vez en el fondo del agua me dije

Aquello estaba tomado por muchachas

y grité tu nombre porque sí porque quién quita

porque uno nunca sabe y las muchachas volaron

irreductibles a los cantos del cazador de sirenas

Once the day was caught I went to the market
to ask the vegetables for you
and I wasn't able to explain myself
and made a mess of it and wasn't clear
Then I asked the petunia flower
the branches of thyme and the oranges
and no one knew about you
Maybe on the trampolines I said to myself
Maybe in the bottom of the water I said to myself
That was all taken by young girls
and I shouted your name just in case because what if
because you never know and the young girls flew
influenced by the songs of the mermaid hunter
