The Great Mother, The Empress::3::La Gran Madre, La Emperatriz

       When you get the Empress, the number 3 card in the Tarot, you are probably coming into touch with your ancient sensual nature. The Empress runs through love, so let your heart lead the way, relax into your senses, let your sexuality flow. The Empress is the part of you who engages a partner or mothers a child- she is fundamentally "in relation" to others. When you get in touch with the Empress, your gentleness may come to the fore, bringing spiritual nourishment and sensitivity to the daily pattern of your life. When you are cooking, parenting, making love, or cleaning house, you will feel the presence of the Mother in you.

       The Empress brings out your artistic side, opens your love of beauty, and heightens your aesthetic appreciation. This might be a good time to redecorate a room or arrange a bouquet of flowers. Maybe your urge to make art will be stimulated- you may get out the clay and sculpt something, or paint a picture, or make that new design you have been planning. You may want to get closer to the earth by gardening or hiking or just sitting somewhere in the sunshine listening to birds sing and smelling the flowers.

        On a deeper level, the Empress may activate ancient feelings you have toward life. You may realize how desperately you want the world to be different- more humane- and think of something to do toward that. The ancient cultures of the Goddess may awaken desire in you for communal life where materials things are shared, or life without war. Maybe you desire a world where all children are wanted children, or the freedom to express your sexuality the way you wish you could underneath all the patterns and cultural ideas about love. 

        Since the Empress is the Great Mother, you may get this card when you are considering whether to have a child. She represents the part of you who is fully committed to the idea and who wants to experience the miracle of conception, pregnancy and birth. If you have doubts or fears, you might meditate on her other quality of "great provider." She is the one who gives all- and one who has all to give. She is the part of you who knows how to manifest what you need in order to survive on the physical plane, as well as the part of you whose "mother instinct" gives you the energy and compassion and enjoyment you need for dealing with children. 

        The Empress represents "prosperity thinking" and the very real power of positive imagination. "What is out there comes around" is a magical saying about manifestation. You just have to envision it and think you deserve it- not always an easy task. It is a nurturing time for you, a time to nourish yourself as well as others. Let your open, sympathetic heart be touched by faith in love. Let your desire for harmony influence your thought forms and your wishes. Ask the Great Mother for what you need. Remember, Venus (Ishtar-Aphrodite) is the wishing star.

      Cuando sacas la carta de La Emperatriz, la número 3 en el Tarot, es probable que entres en contacto con tu naturaleza sensual antigua. La Emperatriz gobierna a través del amor, así que deja que tu corazón guíe tu camino, relájate en tus sentidos, deja fluir tu sexualidad. La Emperatriz es la parte de ti que contacta con un compañero o es maternal- ella está fundamentalmente "en relación" con los demás. Cuando hagas contacto con la Emperatriz, tu dulzura puede sobresalir a un primer plano, trayendo alimento espiritual y sensibilidad a nuestra vida diaria. Cuando estés cocinando, criando los hijos, haciendo el amor, o limpiando la casa, sentirás la presencia de la Madre en ti.

       La Emperatriz saca tu lado artístico, abre tu amor por la belleza, y aumenta tu apreciación estética. Este podría ser un buen momento para redecorar una habitación o hacer un ramo de flores. Tal vez tu deseo de hacer arte se estimulará- puede salir algo de la arcilla y esculpir o pintar un cuadro, o crear el nuevo diseño que venías pensando. Las antiguas culturas de la Diosa pueden despertar el deseo en ti hacia la vida comunitaria donde las cosas materiales son compartidas, o una vida sin guerras. Tal vez deseas un mundo donde todos los niños sean hijos deseados, o tener la libertad de expresar tu sexualidad de la forma que deseas a pesar de todos los patrones y las ideas culturales que existen acerca del amor. 

       Dado que la Emperatriz es la Gran Madre, puedes sacar esta carta cuando estás considerando la posibilidad de tener un hijo. Ella representa la parte tuya que está plenamente comprometida con la idea y quiere experimentar el milagro de la concepción, el embarazo y el parto. Si tienes dudas o temores, es posible meditar en su calidad de ser otra "gran proveedora". Ella es la que da todo y la que tiene todo para dar. Ella es la parte de ti que sabe cómo manifestar lo que necesitas para sobrevivir en el plano físico, así como la parte de ti cuyo "instinto maternal" te da la energía y la compasión y el disfrute que necesitas para enfrentar a los niños.       

       La Emperatriz representa el "pensamiento de la prosperidad" y el poder real de la imaginación positiva. "Lo que está presente viene de regreso" es un proverbio mágico acerca de la manifestación. Sólo tienes que imaginartelo y pensar en lo que te mereces- lo que no es siempre una tarea fácil. Este es un tiempo enriquecedor para ti, un tiempo para alimentarte a tí mismo y a los demás. Deja que tu amable y abierto corazón sea tocado por la fe en el amor. Deja que tu deseo de armonía influiya en tus formas de pensar y querer. Preguntale a la Gran Madre de lo que necesitas. Recuerda, Venus (Ishtar-Afrodita) es la estrella de los deseos.
