HERMANOS DEL AGUA: una sutil línea de borde pespuntea.....

El domingo 9 de Octubre se inauguró nuestra exposición HERMANOS DEL AGUA en la Galería Templarios. En el texto del catálogo, que termino de publicar hoy en este blog, hay una entrevista que Alberto Asprino, curador y amigo nuestro, nos hace y que hoy cierra J.F. Cantón, director de la galería, con sus apreciaciones hacia el proceso vivido y que queda abierto al público hasta el 6 de Noviembre:

Todo evento expositivo de una manera u otra, está orientado hacia un interés puntual, ya  sea desde la visión curatorial, institucional o personal. Unir dos artistas  que además de explorar medios comunes son hermanos, no deja de ser peculiar y por demás interesante.

A.A.: En esta aproximación indagatoria, es pertinente buscar  pistas en este ensamblaje plástico que J. F. Cantón ha generado en  calidad de promotor y responsable de la iniciativa.

Lo personal, en el acto creador por lo general, siempre está detrás de bastidores, asolapado y resguardado. ¿Cómo concebiste la idea de buscar este acercamiento entre Consuelo Méndez y Hernán Alvarado?, ¿por qué sacarlos al ruedo en esta suerte de dupla artística?.

J.F. Cantón: En principio diré que soy un individuo que cree en los proyectos colectivos, creo en la labor conjunta y  el empeño sostenido. Desde este planteamiento ambos creadores son afines, dos caminos que se andan en paralelo y ofrecen  rasgos en común. Por decir, la docencia, el medio gráfico, la creación grupal, son actividades que en buena parte han desarrollado nuestros dos invitados.

          Al curso de la jornada, el acercamiento es parte del proceso que se inició en noviembre de 2010. Los tiempos creativos de Consuelo y Hernán son individuales, es cierto, no obstante, pensamiento y músculo se unirán al tiempo, el “cuerpo” del trabajo cederá y abrirá otras perspectivas, la idea de concebir este acercamiento a dúo mostrará su mejor presentación. Allí estarán, la obra, el público y el contexto, entidades que sumadas dan un resultado colectivo.

          Me motivaron Consuelo y su vocación inagotable, el color perpetuo, el credo a la pintura,  Hernán y su discurso plástico de maravilloso rigor intelectual, verbo y admiración. Me sedujo la idea y me apoyaron los amigos. Hoy juntos, escribimos la historia.

            Sacarlos al ruedo en esta suerte de dupla artística, me parece estupendo, podremos decir que fue “obra del destino”.  Un día conversábamos en casa de Consuelo y manifesté la inquietud de una propuesta: “una exposición conjunta”. La revisamos, la consultamos y se convirtió en compromiso. Honor para Templarios galería- taller, esos regalos que te da la vida.

          El compromiso y el placer es vincular dos obras de distinto tenor, hacerlas referencia plástica del mismo proyecto, encuentro de aptitudes y modos de pensar, diálogo entre  pensamiento y creación, entre hermanos, formas y soportes, entre objetos y colores. Singular reto para el ejercicio museográfico, para la curaduría, para el aprendizaje.

          Da gusto tener al unísono la obra de Consuelo y Hernán. Es significativo exponer resultados del quehacer plástico de dos figuras nacionales, maestros de aulas que forman generaciones de artistas plásticos, representantes en disímiles  tendencias, investigadores de la plástica nacional. Amigos del cotidiano vivir del arte, bienvenidos a este templo de culto, donde oración y contemplación surgen del gesto y la expresión.

Una sutil línea de borde pespuntea el trabajo de Consuelo Méndez y Hernán Alvarado, quizás porque en el fondo su ideario de vida ha permitido reencontrarse desde el arte como valor existencial. Seguro que cada uno, justamente, ha sabido resguardarse en el otro,  por lo que su cuerpo de obra se hace hoy uno, y muchos.

Any exhibition event in one way or another, is oriented toward a timely interest, either from the curatorial vision, institutional or personal. To join two artists who beside being brother and sister, explore common media, is no less peculiar and quite interesting.

Alberto Asprino: In this approximation and inquiry, it is relevant to look for clues in the plastic assemblage that J. F. Canton has generated being the responsible promoter of the initiative.
          The personal, usually in the creative act, stays behind racks, sheltered and hidden. How did you conceive the idea of ​​joining Consuelo Méndez and Hernán Alvarado?, Why place them together in this sort of artistic duet?

J.F. Canton: In principle I would say that I am an individual who believes in collective projects, I believe in working together and in sustained commitment. From this perspective both artists are related, two paths that go in parallel and offer similar features. In other words, teaching, the graphic medium, group creation, they are the activities that have largely developed our two guests.
          In the course of the day, getting them closer is part of the process that began in November 2010. Hernán's and Consuelo's creative times are individualized, this is true, however, thought and muscle will join in time, the "body" of the work will give way and open up other perspectives, the idea of conceiving ​​this duet's approach will show its best performance. There will be, the work, the audience and context, entities which together give a collective result.
          Consuelo motivated me with her inexhaustible vocation, her perpetual color, her creed about painting; Hernán with his wonderful visual discourse of intellectual rigor, verb and admiration. I was seduced by the idea and friends supported me. Together today, we write the story.
         Taking them out into the ring in this kind of artistic duo, I think is stupendous, we can say that it was "the work of destiny." One day we talked at Consuelo's home and I expressed concern about a proposal, "a joint exhibition." We reviewed it, consulted about it and made the compromise to carry it out. It is an honor for Templarios Gallery, one of those gifts that life gives.
           The commitment and pleasure is to link two works of different tenor, to make them be plastic reference to the same project, encounter of skills and ways of thinking, dialogue between thought and creation, between siblings, forms and media, between objects and colors. Unique challenge for a museographic exercise, for curatorship, for learning.
          It is nice to bring together the work of Consuelo and Hernán. It is significant to exhibit the results of the plastic/visual work of two national figures, workshop teachers of generations of visual artists, representatives of disparate trends, researchers of national art. Friends of daily living from art, welcomed to this temple of worship, prayer and contemplation which arise from gesture and expression.

A subtle border line backstitches the work of Consuelo Méndez and Hernán Alvarado, perhaps because deep down their ideas of life have allowed them to  reunite in the face of art as a value of existence. Surely each one of them, rightly, has managed to take shelter in each other, so that their body of work becomes today one and many.
