LA VIGILIA me enseña a olvidar

dichosamente

                   las horas

como espigas

                   cortadas a tiempo

como aljibes

                humedecen la espera

dilatan lo vivido en puro despertar

como grano

               se esparce el cuerpo

y se aposenta

Es el instante

                  amor de entraña

recio elemental

                      sin prisa

ahora puedo decir que existo

mi contorno es de sal

poquito a poco

                    aprendí a consentir

provisión es todo lo que rozo

la ceiba la azotea

la casa imperturbable

                               mi niñez

ese balcón abierto a todo lo que fui

THE VIGIL teaches me to forget
blissfully
            the hours
like spikes
           cut in time
like water reservoirs
                 moisten the yearning
dilate what has been lived in pure awakening
like grain
             it spreads the body
and settles

It is the instant
                     innermost love
mighty element
                       without haste
now I can say that I exist
my outline is made of salt
little by little
                     I learned to consent
provision is all that I touch
ceiba tree  terrace
the undisturbed house
                                my childhood
that balcony open to all that I was
I embrace it without searching
