OYA YANSA 

"Aquí viene Oya con su corona luminosa. Aquí viene OYA con el viento y la lluvia. Viaja por el bosque, volando sobre las colinas. Aquí viene Oyá, la reina del viento y la lluvia." 

Oya es tornados, vientos y relámpagos. Ella está asociada a menudo con Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, Santa Catalina, Santa Teresa y Santa Bárbara. Ella es una mujer guerrera, una amazona. Ella está armada, lleva casco y lucha contra la injusticia. Su color es el rojo. Sus hijos llevan cuentas rojas. Ella es la tormenta, la tempestad y la lluvia. Le encanta bailar. Ella es la única Orisha que se atreve a enfrentarse a los espíritus de los muertos. Como Santa Bárbara su festividad se celebra el 04 de diciembre. Como la Virgen de La Candelaria es honrada el 2 de febrero. A ella le encanta la berenjena, las gallinas, las cabras, las ovejas, las langostas, el crin de caballo negro, los interruptores de cobre, el vino tinto, las ciruelas y las uvas. Además del rojo, sus otros colores son el violeta, el marrón, y el anaranjado quemado. Ella se asocia con la luna oscura y el planeta Urano. Sus lugares predilectos en el hogar están en la biblioteca y el estudio. Su día es el miércoles y su número es el 9.

"Here comes OYA with her luminous crown. Here comes OYA with the wind and the rain. She travels the forest, flying over hills. Here comes OYA, queen of the wind and rain." 

Oya is tornados, wind and lightning. She is often associated with Our Lady of Candelaria, St. Catherine, St. Teresa and Saint Barbara. She is a warrior woman, an Amazon. She is armed and helmeted and fights injustice. Her color is red. Her children wear red beads. She is storm, tempest and rain. She loves to dance. She is the only Orisha who dares to confront the spirits of the dead. In the form of Saint Barbara, her Feast Day is December 4th. As Virgin of the Candelaria she is honored on February 2. She loves eggplant, hens, she-goats, sheep, locust, black horsehair, switches, copper, red wine, plums, and grapes. Besides red, her other colors are red, purple, brown, and burnt orange. She is associated with the dark moon and the planet Uranus. Her places in the home are in the library and study. Her day is Wednesday and her number is 9.
