un mural descubierto::a new mural

          No se de quién es este mural que está en la Asociación de Profesores de la UCV, antiguo Colegio de Médicos, cerca de la Plaza de las Tres Gracias en Caracas. Cuando entré al recinto hace una semana me sorprendió por su fuerza expresiva, dulzura y antigüedad. Es un mural hecho al fresco y pareciese ser de la primera etapa de Gabriel Bracho, Narváez o César Rengifo, pero no lo sé, ni está identificado. A lo mejor al exponerlo entre mis imágenes sabré la verdad. 

           Lo cierto es que ese lugar despierta mi memoria más temprana porque en mi infancia nuestra familia era asidua al Colegio de Médicos. Yo aprendí a nadar en su piscina y recuerdo haber ido muchas veces con mis hermanos ahí. No recuerdo el mural pero estoy segura que estaba y que con seguridad forma parte de mi memoria visual. Me contenta haberlo descubierto justo en un momento en el que reflexiono sobre los caminos que ha tomado mi obra plástica a través del tiempo. Mi amor por los murales se mantiene despierto.

            I do not know who painted this mural that is on the walls of the UCV Professors Association, the former College of Physicians, located near the Three Graces Square in Caracas. When I went to the site a week ago I was surprised by its expressive power, sweetness and old age. It is a mural painted in fresco technique and seems to be an early work of Gabriel Bracho, Narváez or César Rengifo, but I am not sure, nor is it identified. Maybe if someone sees these images I will know the truth.

            That place awakens my earliest childhood memories because our family was assiduous to the College of Physicians. I learned to swim in their pool and I remember going there with my brothers many times when we were young. I do not remember the mural but I am sure it was there at the time and that is part of my visual memory. I am glad I discovered it just when I am reflecting on the paths my art work has taken over time. My love for murals remains awake.
