PROEMIO

FOREWORD
Go to the cities, my book, walk
the avenues of those far away places,
climb its towers and observe its domes
and the golden sunset on the palaces.
Tell the men about the abandonment of these climates,
the fires and the mountains of ash.
Amaze their eyes with stories of the rain,
ruin of pastures and drowning cattle.
Sing the sorrow of absence, the solitude
of heavens and the wear of the evenings.
Do not fear to appear like you are: work
of an expatriate distant from people.
Go to the cities, my book, and look for delayed
readers. Flee from flattery and hypocrisy.
