Eres el nardo sin aroma, la rosa sin espinas, el cactus que no florece.

No supe de tu elocuencia en aquellos cuerpos disecados.

Esos cadáveres vacíos como el interior de un bosque.

Los hospitales de emergencia ignoran la levedad de tu abrazo, la sonoridad de tu nombre, la ortografía de tu silencio.

No eres refugio confiable para nuestras noches.

No percibes la inconsistencia de nuestra imagen.

Treinta años después se han borrado los senderos que nos acercaban a tu brillo.

Has abandonado tus estancias. Ya no existes. Ahora es la errancia y el desengaño, la intemperie, la orfandad.

In the banks of the dying river Cabriales.

I no longer feel your splendor in the gardens.

The geranium's suicide whiteness is not for your eyes.

Neither the sweet thickness of the city of Lima skies.

You are an unscented nard, a rose without thorns, a cactus that does not bloom.

I did not know of your eloquence over those dissected bodies.

Those corpses empty as the interior of a forest.

Emergency hospitals ignore the lightness of your embrace, the resonance of your name, the spelling of your silence.

You are not a reliable shelter for our nights.

You do not perceive the inconsistency of our image.

The trails have disappeared thirty years later, making us closer to your brilliance.

You have abandoned your rooms. You exist no longer. The present is wandering and disappointment, the weather, the orphanhood.
