El 2 de Febrero celebramos a la Virgen de la Candelaria. Causalmente:
"Imboloc, es una festividad pastoral de los antiguos celtas que también se celebra el 2 de Febrero. Tiene lugar con los primeros destellos de la primavera, cuando la savia asciende por los árboles y las campanillas blancas asoman la cabeza entre la nieve.
Los celtas exaltaban esta fiesta como el día de la diosa Brighid, quien fue mas tarde cristianizada bajo el nombre de Santa Brigida. En Enero y Febrero la tierra es lavada por las lluvias invernales. Los antiguos aprovechaban esto para llevar a cabo un ritual de purificación de la Diosa Tierra tras haber parido el Nuevo Sol en el Solsticio de Invierno. Durante la fiesta romana de februa (que dio su nombre a febrero) las mujeres se sometían a la purificación tras recorrer las calles portando cirios, la cual significaba que había llegado la luz después de una larga oscuridad y con ella el comienzo de la vida, la creatividad y lo posible. Los cirios que se utilizarian en el año eran bendecidos con una corta invocación a la diosa, en la cual se recitaba la siguiente invocación:
“A Februa hoy invocamos
Y las bendiciones reclamamos
De luz amor y purificación
Para obtener de ti la bendición”

On 2 February we celebrate the Virgin of Candelaria. Causally:
"Imboloc is a pastoral festival of the ancient Celts which is also celebrated on February 2. It takes place with the first rays of spring, when the sap rises in the trees and the white bell flowers poke their heads through the snow.
The Celts exalted this celebration as the feast day of the goddess Brighid, who was later Christianized under the name of Saint Brigida. In January and February the land is washed by winter rains. The ancients took advantage of this in order to perform a ritual of purification for the Earth Goddess after giving birth the New Sun in the Winter Solstice. During the Roman festival of februa (giving its name to February) women underwent purification by walking the streets carrying candles, which meant that light had arrived after a long darkness and with it the beginning of life, creativity and the possible. The candles that would be used during the year were blessed with a short invocation to the goddess, which was recited in the following prayer:
"We invoke Februa today
And the blessings we claim
Of light love and purification
To obtain from Thee the blessing "
