en nuestras veladas::in our evening celebrations

En nuestras veladas
En nuestros talleres
En nuestras fiestas sombrías
Un día cualquiera
Canta
El bello cisne
Petrificado

Me decía
A manera de réplica:
En llama será consumida
Tiene los signos equívocos del otro reino.

Luego no había más que comenzar:

Humo
Sándalo
Azufre de los infiernos,
Me abruma tanto tiempo perdido
Y la nostalgia de mi primer viaje
Y algunas aves negras

In our evening celebrations
In our workshops
In our somber parties
Any given day
The beautiful swan
Sings
Petrified
Of the rainbow
With its radiant kingfisher tongue.

Any given day
I feared for you
In different sides of the town
Amid the rubble

But you said to me:
It will never be consumed in flame
The blind flesh of my age.

And the age of pupils ajar, pointing mischievously
A bonfire. A sphinx

Said to me
By way of reply:
In flames it will be consumed
It has the equivocal signs of the other kingdom.

Then I could only begin again:

Smoke
Sandalwood
Sulphur of the underworld,
I am overwhelmed by the long-lost time
And the nostalgia of my first trip
And some black birds
Passing through the sky
When I read the cards.

Listen to me:

Have my great craftsmen ceased to turn?
I move their dominant arms?
Temptations, like
Sleepwalking panthers
Behind the night?

Lamps, insomnia and inaccessible peaks of
Real life.

Out of place, away from the bustle, speechless
Like a chaste parent.
