 Descubrimiento

Las velas cuadriculaban con desorden de tarde cansada, y las naves avanzaban cortando el mar, haciendo operaciones aritméticas. No había señales de tierra, el cielo se callaba de pájaros rutinarios y lo peor de todo, la tripulación comenzaba a murmurar, no respetaba mis fracasos en las matemáticas. El sextante acusaba desviaciones de incierta naturaleza, descendí del asta mayor y me dirigía a la proa, acentuando mis temores pero dispuesto a enfrentarme con el hecho irregular, tal vez con la caída, cuando la profesora descubre mi tarea de vocales donde Cristóbal colón se deletreaba y yo era también el Almirante.

Discovery

The sails squared off with the disorder of a tired afternoon, and the ships moved forward cutting the sea, doing arithmetic operations. There was no sign of earth, the sky quieted down with routine birds and worst of all, the crew began to murmur, not respecting my failures in math. The sextant accused deviations of uncertain nature, I went down from the main pole and headed to the bow, my fears accentuated but willing to face the irregular event, perhaps with the fall, when the teacher discovered my homework on vocals spelling Christopher Columbus and I was also the Admiral.
