cuando mi estatua se despierte::when my statue awakens

When my statue awakens
When my statue awakens
it will remain nevertheless, for a long time
immobile, fixed,
until the chorus of birds
that sing around it, ceases.
Motionless without blinking, without notice
that my blood restarts its course
through its marble veins,
has to pretend to be still dreaming,
that it doesn't feel the vertigo of things
where the landscape flows.
Will not talk, or give even the slightest respite
while the songs are still around
and maybe when they quiet down, will have gone back to sleep,
inadvertently,
below the solitary moss.
