A bird's earthiness

The bird's earthiness is its song,
what in its chest returns to the world
with the echoes of an invisible choir
from the forest already dead.
Its earthiness is the dream of finding itself
among the absent,
repeating to the end the melody
while crossing openly thru the air
its traveling wings,
though not knowing who it's singing to
or why,
not even if it would be heard in others some day
like every minute it wanted to be:
more innocent.
From birth nothing separates it
from its earthy duty,
working under the sun, procreating, looking for its crumbs
and just defends its voice
because in time it is not a bird
but lightning in the night of its kind,
relentless pursuit of life
so that the song remains.
