 Reyes

absortos resplandecen
siguiendo al buey que era lejano
ya los árboles mudos
que oyen el viento.

Kings

In leisures filled with future
veered the faces of the Kings
at the angle suspended of the
palace painter.

Suddenly ceased in that gesture
the Court intrigue,
the pain of gout and the unfortunate parts
of legions at war,
only one hand and his brush astonished girded
the light of the costumes.

What time was set to the pose
tormented by the judgments
of envisaged museum mobs?
A month, a year? Or came a double,
a substitute vassal
to hold the cloak, the ruff,
bitter stiffness of the Empire?

Shone always in his eyes
a desolate boredom, a distant rain
which should not subside as they posed ...
An ambiguous reverie drifts
of someone looking at the open window
a farmer, an ox,
together, far away,
and would like to be poor at least once,
tread bare footed the grooves of the earth.
The rain is not seen. Only his eyes
absorbed shine
following the ox that ploughs far away
and the silent trees
that hear the wind.
