 Terredad

Earthiness

Being here on earth for years,
with the clouds that arrive, with the birds,
suspended on fragile hours.
On board, almost drifting,
closer to Saturn, more distant,
as the sun turns and drags us
and blood runs through its deep universe
more sacred than all the stars.

Being here on earth: no further
than a tree, no more inexplicably,
light in autumn, swollen in summer,
with what we are or are not, with the shadow,
memory, desire, until the end
(if there is an end) voice to voice,
house to house,
whoever carries the earth, if they carry it,
or who waits for it, if awaiting,
each time sharing bread together
in two, three, four pieces,
not forgetting the ant's scraps
which always travels from remote stars
to be on time at our dinner
even if the crumbs are bitter.
