cualquier soledad::any solitude

 Cualquier soledad

Any solitude

Any solitude, whichever comes,
but not that of a man without mountains.
Let our voices return for their echoes
and eyes move to support the eyelids,
those shutters guard them
and when they open show them dreaming like always
even if they never talk to us.

When we bend the horizon
by the weight of things
and our gaze falls to the bottom and nothing lifts it,
when life insists on being terribly flat,
any exile among the islands, even the most barren
the coldest, any bitterness
but not that of a man without mountains.
