no hay nada que me duela más::there's nothing that hurts me more

There's nothing that hurts me more
There's nothing that hurts me more
than the pain of my parents
for their dead parents.
When they toast quietly in their memory,
at a luncheon in front of their cute little girl alive.
When my mother takes flowers
to her mother in the cemetery,
I see myself at her grave
crying one day.
Because I don't have her,
and she no longer has her cute girl.
I remember she told me
tales about her mom that bored me
as a way of leaving a hint
of her memory.
I will be alert to rescue that:
as a child my dad could only be given a penny
to go play to
Coney Island.
My mom squeezed herself all her life
through feelings of guilt
because in her times the comfort
of psychiatrists didn't exist.
