Esas espléndidas diosas
que esparcen el amor o la cólera,
la amenaza de una discordia, la grandeza de una batalla.
Esas diosas que detienen el sol
por deferencia a un hombre
y administran la gloria, la eternidad y los sueños,
no existieran, a no dudarlo, de no ser por aquel que,
ciego y paciente,
se dedicó a cantarlas.
Esos milagros, esas mentiras, esas tribus errantes,
esa cruz,
esa leyenda, ese amor, esos mitos y esas verdades
que nos enaltecen justifican y proyectan
no existirían
si voces empecinadas no se hubiesen dado a la tarea
de cantar en la sombra.
Ahora
que a falta de sombras sobran focos
y nadie puede ya cantar,
¿quién después que obtengamos el pulover por el cupón 45 o el cortaúñas por el 119
podrá demostrar que hemos existido?
