 Cantar por cantar

Ella vendrá,

volando o de golpe, como quieres,

o sigilosa y lenta:

serás tu corazón esperándola,

serás solamente una de tus vísceras,

serás tu estómago tratando de digerirla

o tu pulmón que la recibe mientras le dice adiós al aire.

Inexorable, por a o por bé

ella vendrá

la única segura,

ella vendrá intempestivamente o anunciándose.

Tú la prefieres gentil: una noche te acuestas a dormir

y antes de amanecer, sin despertarte,

ella te abrazará para siempre.

Pero no sabes.

Al menos un avión se desploma

no causa tantas molestias y esperas angustiosas.

Ella vendrá, tal vez haciéndose esperar, anunciándose.

Ella vendrá, a lo mejor intempestiva,

ella vendrá y entretanto

sin el cuándo y el cómo

cada vez está más cerca

en cada instante que transcurre

eres más y más de ella,

la segura.

 To sing for the sake of singing

She will come,

flying or all of a sudden, like you want her,

or stealthy and slow:

you will be your heart waiting for her,

you will be only one of your viscera,

you will be your stomach trying to digest her

or your lung that receives her while biding farewell to the air.

Inexorable, by a or b

she will come

the only safe one,

she will come unexpectedly or announced.

You prefer her gentle: one night you lie down to sleep

and before dawn, without waking you,

she will hold you forever.

But you do not know.

At least one plane collapses

does not cause so much annoyance and agonizing waiting.

She will come, perhaps making herself hoped for, announcing herself.

She will come, perhaps untimely,

she will come and meanwhile

without the when and how

each time getting closer

in every moment that passes

you are more and more of her,

the assured one.
